Inspiration for a Friend

My friends and I have tons of events coming up. Daytime weddings in the country and evening weddings in the city, afternoon engagement parties, bachelorette nights out... lots of fun outfits to plan!

Of course, since it's been the same deal every spring and summer for the past few years, it's getting more and more difficult to be original with our looks.

My friend, The (not so) Procrastinating Student, needed some inspiration. And what better place than Polyvore for some fashion inspiration?!

So I thought about her style a bit - she's tall and thin. Truly built like a model, she could pull her looks right off the runway. But we all prefer to wear what we're comfortable in, right?

For her, that would be no matchy-matchy-ness (but, um, I can't help myself... *see sets below), no sleeveless dresses, no earrings and no really high heels. She wears shorts with class, patterns with confidence and rocks high-collared sleek Asian-style dresses, not to mention how cute she looks in shorter wrap dresses cinched at the waist.

Keeping in mind her style, I'd like to see her branch out into some of the runway looks that women with her shape can wear. Wide-leg pants, shorter skirts or shorts to show off those long legs, bolder prints and solid colors - maybe some blue to bring out her eyes or pink, which we constantly argue about (I think it would look great on her, she does not - but it would!)

  5. So much goodness here!!
I loooove the colorblocking peach & purple - totally stealing that look ;)

P.S. I have black & white oxfords from Steve Madden nearly identical to those in the first look - surprisingly they go with tons of stuff!

  6. So fun to hear which looks people liked best!

And I'm shocked to hear of another person owning those black & white oxfords, Ashleigh! I thought my bestie was the only one crazy enough, lol. But, you're right - hey do seem to go with tons of stuff. Plus, on the right people (you know, those who buy them in the first place), they are so cute!

And, Janet - I've yet to see you rocking the "old-bag" muumuu with little white orthopedic shoes! I think you've a few years yet 'til you reach "old bag!" ;) Besides, keep dressing as you do and no one would even notice! ;)
